1.When and where are meetings held? How long do they last?
Meetings are held at 2:40 in the Auditorium, usually on the first Tuesday of each month and last for around 15 minutes.
2. If I miss a meeting, what should I do?
If you cannot attend an NHS meeting after school, you are required to attend a make-up meeting the following morning at 7am in Ms. Stone’s room. If you do not attend the make-up meeting, you will be SAC-ed!
3. I need to turn in dues or fundraiser money late. Who do I give it to?
Money goes to Ms. Leach (counselor located in the Freshman center). It should be in an envelope (NOT a newsletter or your marquee form) with your NAME, what the money is for (DUES or MARQUEES), and the DATE when you are turning it in. Your envelope is filed so that if there is any question about whether it was turned in on time, the envelope is there to let us know that it was turned in. Without an envelope with your name on it, we can’t tell who has paid and who has not paid.
4. How many service hours must I do each semester?
You must do at least 14 service hours. Service opportunities are listed on the newsletter you receive at each meeting. The newsletter is also available on this website.
5. How do I document my service hours?
Fill out your Service Hours form and have an adult sponsor sign it. At events such as the NHS Senior Citizen Dance, you will sign in on a sheet, and you can write “See Sign-In Sheet” on your Service Hours Form in the blank that asked for a signature.
6. If I lose my Service Hours Form or my marquee form, how can I get another copy?
Both are available on this website. Click on Home and look to the right of the screen under Forms and Applications.
7.What is the maximum number of service hours I can get at any one place?
No Limit
8. Can I get service hours for tutoring?
Only if you tutor through the Clements Peer Tutoring Committee or for Mr. Boagni.
9. When is my Service Hours Form due?
If you’re a new member, your Service Hours Form is due on Friday, May 22. (If you’re a continuing senior who is applying for a scholarship, your Service Hours Form will be turned in with your Scholarship Application.)
